The Open de España takes place this week, with some of the biggest names on the DP World Tour heading to Club de Campo Villa de Madrid.
Jon Rahm is one of the favourites to win the tournament, while Ludvig Åberg, Shane Lowry and Patrick Reed are also towards the top of the market. Rahm has an excellent record in this event, having won it three times.
Here are three bets I like for this week’s Open de España.
David Puig to Win – 25/1
David Puig is my first pick for the Open de España this week. The Spaniard hasn’t been in his best form recently, but he has an excellent record at this course.
Puig finished ninth here last year after finishing third in 2024. He has now played 12 rounds at Club de Campo and averages 68.50, which is one of the best records in this week’s field.
Returning to Spain could help him find his best form, and I think 25/1 is a decent price considering how well he has played here previously.
Betting Tip: David Puig to win – 25/1
Eugenio Chacarra to Win – 22/1
Eugenio Chacarra heads into the tournament in good form and is another player I think has a good chance this week.
The Spaniard finished third at the Open de France two weeks ago and was also fourth at the European Masters earlier in the season. He returns to Madrid in much better form than a lot of the players around him in the betting.
Chacarra will also have plenty of support in his home city. At 22/1, I think he is worth backing to challenge for the title.
Betting Tip: Eugenio Chacarra to win – 22/1
Jon Rahm to Win – 10/1
Jon Rahm is difficult to ignore considering his record in this tournament.
The Spaniard has won the Open de España three times, including twice at Club de Campo. He also finished second in 2024 before another top-ten finish last year.
Rahm missed the cut on his latest appearance at Wentworth, which is a slight concern. However, he clearly enjoys playing this course, and I expect him to be challenging again this week.
At around 10/1, I think Rahm is a fair price to win his fourth Open de España title.
Betting Tip: Jon Rahm to win – 10/1
